CM KP Inaugurates New Rs. 1.6 Billion Underpass in Peshawar
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi inaugurated the Hayatabad Toll Plaza Underpass on Wednesday.
The Rs1.6 billion project was completed in just 90 days to improve traffic flow and ease congestion in Hayatabad and nearby areas.
The 500-metre-long project includes a 130-metre barrel, 665 piles and a two-lane underpass. It provides a direct and smoother route for traffic coming from Detour Road on the Bara side towards Ring Road.
Officials said the project was designed to reduce congestion at the Hayatabad Toll Plaza and surrounding roads, facilitate vehicular movement and cut unnecessary delays.
The underpass is expected to save commuters’ time and improve traffic management and mobility in Hayatabad and adjoining areas.
Members of the provincial cabinet, including Meena Khan Afridi, Shafi Jan, Mian Umar Kakakhel and Adil Iqbal, attended the inauguration ceremony.
Members of the National Assembly, Junaid Akbar and Asif Khan, along with parliamentarians elected from Peshawar, party leaders and a large number of citizens, were also present.
