CDA Doesn’t Know Why Sector G/6 is Drowning in Garbage

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sought explanations from three officers after finding sanitation and green-area maintenance in Sector G-6/3, Islamabad, in poor condition.

During an inspection on August 26, CDA officials found garbage, dry leaves, cut branches and other green waste piled up at several locations. The inspection also pointed to weak supervision of sanitation and maintenance work.

The Member Environment issued explanation notices to Director Solid Waste Management (SWM) Malik Atta, Deputy Director SWM Atta Bari and Inspector SWM Faisal.

The notices said senior authorities had repeatedly directed officials to ensure cleanliness, remove waste and properly maintain the area, but the situation remained unchanged.

CDA termed the alleged negligence and failure to follow instructions as objectionable.

The three officers have been given three days to submit written explanations and clarify why departmental proceedings should not be initiated against them.

CDA warned that failure to respond within the deadline could result in action under the relevant rules without further notice.
