Captain (Retd) Sohail Chaudhry has been appointed as the new Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police, replacing Ali Nasir Rizvi, who is set to assume the role of Director General at the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), sources told ProPakistani.
Chaudhry has extensive experience in field policing and has held several senior positions in Punjab Police.
He has served as Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Lahore, DIG Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Multan.
Chaudhry has spent much of his career handling operational policing, counterterrorism and crime-control assignments.
