The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore has announced that it will end traditional paper marking centers for upcoming examinations and introduce an on-screen marking system.
Lahore Board Chairman Professor Badr-ul-Islam said the system will begin with the second annual examinations, allowing examiners to check students’ papers online from home.
He said the new system will reduce marking errors, eliminate the need for examiners to travel to distant marking centers and help resolve complaints related to rechecking.
The chairman also said candidates will be able to submit their admission forms online. He added that stricter monitoring improved this year’s Grade 9 results and expressed confidence that on-screen marking will further improve examination standards.
