Balochistan High Court Cracks Down On Unauthorized Occupation of Schools

The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has directed the provincial education department to submit a comprehensive report on alleged unauthorized occupation of district education offices and educational institutions across the province in the name of unions and associations.

A two-member bench comprising BHC Chief Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Malakhail and Justice Najmuddin Mengal issued the directive while hearing a contempt petition filed by Imran Hussaini against the secretary, education (schools), Balochistan, and others.

During the hearing, Additional Advocate General Balochistan Zahoor Ahmed Baloch told the court that all unauthorized occupants had been removed from the Directorate of Education (Schools) in Quetta and that no such person was currently occupying the premises.

The petitioner’s counsel disputed the claim and requested the court to seek photographic evidence along with the official report.

The bench subsequently directed both sides to submit their reports and ordered the Balochistan Director Schools Education, under the supervision of the secretary education (schools), to compile a province-wide report covering all district education offices and educational institutions.

The court also ordered that officials facing unnecessary or unjustified resistance while implementing its directives should seek assistance from the relevant deputy commissioner, who would be responsible for providing the necessary support.

A copy of the order was also directed to be sent to the office of the additional advocate general for information and compliance.

The next hearing has been scheduled for November 3.
