Auto Loans Hit Record Rs. 386 Billion
Auto loans in Pakistan rose to Rs. 386 billion in July 2026, increasing 35.2 percent year-on-year from Rs. 286 billion in July 2025, according to latest data shared by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
This is the highest level attained in history. The June 2026 level of Rs. 382 billion was the previous record-high.
On a month-on-month basis, auto financing also grew 1.2 percent in July alone.
Meanwhile, loans to the private sector increased by 15 percent YoY to Rs. 10.9 trillion, compared to Rs. 9.5 trillion in the same period last year.
Bank loans for constructing homes increased by 37.2 percent YoY in July 2026, reaching Rs. 286 billion from Rs. 263 billion in July 2025.
Credit card loans jumped by 30.5 percent YoY to Rs. 212 billion from last year’s Rs. 163 billion.
