Attock Cement Wants to Merge With Fauji Cement

Attock Cement Pakistan Limited (PSX: ACPL) has authorized its management to explore and evaluate a potential merger with Fauji Cement Company Limited, marking a significant development in Pakistan’s cement sector.

The company’s board approved the move at a meeting held on August 11, according to a disclosure to the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The board also declared no final cash dividend for the year ended June 30, 2026, in addition to an interim dividend of Rs. 0.50 per share, or 5 percent, already paid.

The management has been tasked with assessing the feasibility of the proposed merger and presenting its recommendations to the board for consideration. The disclosure does not provide a valuation or timeline for the potential transaction.

Attock Cement is an associated company of Kot Addu Power Company, which holds around 46 percent of Attock Cement’s issued share capital, according to KAPCO’s disclosure to the PSX.

The board also approved a proposal to shift Attock Cement’s registered office from Karachi, Sindh, to Rawalpindi, Punjab. The move remains subject to shareholder approval at the company’s upcoming annual general meeting as well as other statutory and regulatory requirements.

Attock Cement’s annual general meeting is scheduled for September 22, 2026, in Karachi. The company said shareholders whose names appear in the register on September 14 will be entitled to the declared entitlement.
