Heavy Rain Forecast in Several Parts of Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rain, strong winds and thunderstorms, with isolated heavy rainfall, across several parts of the country over the next 24 hours.

Widespread rain, strong winds and thunderstorms with isolated heavy rainfall are forecast over the upper catchments of the Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej rivers, as well as Islamabad and Kashmir.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is forecast in Abbottabad, Bajaur, Batagram, Buner, Haripur, Dir, Malakand, Mansehra, Mardan, Shangla, Swabi, Swat and Tor Ghar. In Punjab, the forecast includes Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum, Lahore, Narowal, Rawalpindi, Sheikhupura and Sialkot.

Scattered Rain Forecast

Scattered rain, strong winds and thunderstorms are forecast over the upper catchments of the Indus River. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the forecast includes Charsadda, Chitral, Khyber, Kohat, Kohistan, Mohmand, Nowshera and Peshawar.

In Punjab, rain is forecast in Attock, Chakwal, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Kasur, Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin, Nankana Sahib and Sargodha. In Gilgit Baltistan, the forecast includes Astore, Darel, Diamir, Ghizer, Gilgit, Gupis and Tangir.

Forecast for the Next 48 Hours

Over the next 48 hours, widespread rain, strong winds and thunderstorms with isolated heavy rainfall are forecast over the upper catchments of the Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej rivers, as well as Islamabad and Kashmir.
