Punjab to Introduce New Marking System for Board Exams

Punjab has decided to revise the marking procedure for examinations conducted by all educational boards across the province, including the Lahore Board.
The revised system will replace overall assessment with a structured allocation of marks for individual questions. Under the new rubric based marking system, students will have the opportunity to secure full marks for each question.
The new procedure will apply to all educational boards in Punjab and will begin with the second annual examinations, according to board officials.
The boards will also seek feedback from paper markers to improve the preparation of question papers. Examiners will submit reports to the respective boards covering the questions and marking process.
Board officials said the changes aim to make the results of educational boards globally acceptable. The new procedure will also focus on improving transparency in the examination system and raising marking standards. The Punjab government will implement the revised marking procedure across the province as part of these changes to the examination system.
