Lahore has finalized a schedule of colorful events to celebrate Independence Day 2026, with sports competitions, rallies, musical programs and other activities planned across the city from August 9 to 23.
According to reports, the celebrations began with a bicycle rally on August 9. A motorbike rally will be held in Defense on August 10, followed by a karate tournament at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex on August 11. Meet wrestling and powerlifting competitions will also be held as part of the celebrations.
Lahore will also be illuminated across the city for Independence Day. A special laser show will be presented at the Town Hall, while special arrangements will also be made at Liberty Chowk.
According to reports, a mega concert and spectacular fireworks will be held at Liberty Chowk on August 13.
On August 14, the National Squash Championship will take place, while a grand flag-hoisting ceremony will also be held at Huzuri Bagh.
The Independence Day celebrations will conclude with a “Dangal event” on August 23.
Throughout the celebrations, Lahore will be decorated with green crescent flags and electric lights. The city’s entrance and exit routes will also be decorated with flags and lights.
