Authorities Seal 10 Illegal Housing Schemes in Major City
The Charsadda Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) has sealed 10 housing schemes for operating without the required legal approvals, as authorities step up action against unauthorized developments in the area.
The municipal authority has also served notices on a total of 32 housing schemes that were found to be lacking the necessary approvals.
The action was carried out on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Fazal Rahim Marwat. Assistant Additional Commissioner Nida Shams, along with a TMA team, inspected several housing schemes, colonies, townships, and plotting sites before sealing 10 of them.
During the inspections, officials reviewed the legal status and relevant records of the sites. Authorities were also directed to initiate legal proceedings against schemes found to be operating in violation of applicable rules.
An official list issued in connection with the action also includes the names of individuals associated with the schemes. However, the administration has not announced any finding of criminal liability against those named, and the legal status of each property will depend on the relevant records and proceedings before the competent authorities.
The administration has urged citizens to verify the approval status and legal documentation of any housing scheme with the relevant authorities before purchasing a plot, warning that investments in unapproved developments could expose buyers to financial and legal risks.
