inDrive Reveals How Much of Pakistan Uses Ride-Hailing Apps

Only 5% of people in Pakistan use ride-hailing services, compared with around 20% globally, while digital platforms account for less than 1% of the country’s food sales.

The figures highlight the large untapped potential in Pakistan’s digital mobility and delivery market.

Speaking during a panel discussion, inDrive Regional Director for the Middle East Wael Ibrahim said Pakistan offers significant potential for business growth and announced plans to invest further in the country.

inDrive is currently available in 30 cities across Pakistan, while platforms such as Yango and Bykea have a smaller presence.

Ibrahim said ride-hailing penetration in Pakistan stands at only 5%, compared with around 20% globally, making the country one of the more promising growth markets for digital mobility platforms.

Several factors are limiting the wider adoption of ride-hailing services across Pakistan.

These include low digital literacy in smaller cities and towns, limited internet availability in such areas, and cultural factors.

Foodpanda Director Shariq Mustafa said digital platforms account for less than 1% of food sales in Pakistan.

However, he said these platforms are still having a significant impact on the livelihoods of vulnerable families.
