CM Punjab Approves Construction of New Dam in Rawalpindi

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the construction of a surface water treatment plant and water supply system at Daducha Dam in Rawalpindi.

According to the Housing Department spokesperson, the project is expected to be completed by December 2029.

Under the Punjab government’s plan, WASA will also construct a water supply system to support the project.

The new facility is aimed at providing clean drinking water to the people of Rawalpindi. Officials said 35 million gallons of clean water will be pumped into the supply line daily under the project.

The total cost of the project has been estimated at Rs36 billion.

Officials said the Daducha Dam project will play an important role in improving the supply of clean water in Rawalpindi.

After the completion of the dam, WASA will work on the transmission line and water supply network.

The project has been approved to ensure clean and safe water for the city’s residents.
