The Sindh Higher Education Commission (Sindh HEC) has invited research proposals for the Sindh Research Support Program (SRSP) 2026-27 from eligible faculty members of public sector universities and degree-awarding institutes across the province.
Under the new call, researchers can receive up to Rs. 5 million for a single project. Sindh HEC will provide the research grant for two years, while the deadline to submit applications is October 23, 2026.

Who Can Apply
Full-time regular faculty members holding PhD, FCPS, MCPS, or FRCS qualifications can apply. They must be serving in a public sector university or degree-awarding institute in Sindh under the BPS or TTS system.
Each applicant can submit only one SRSP project as Principal Investigator (PI). A researcher can also hold only one SRSP grant at a time as a Principal Investigator.
Faculty members who received this opportunity or award during the previous two years cannot apply for the current program, according to the 2026-27 advertisement.

Priority Research Areas
Sindh HEC will give preference to collaborative research proposals dealing with issues of provincial importance.
The 2026-27 call highlights areas including climate change, food security, water management, sustainable energy and economy, public health, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, emerging technologies, and educational reforms.
Proposals that have commercialization potential and align with the SDGs will also receive preference.
Research Grant Amount
Researchers can receive a maximum of Rs. 5 million for each approved project. The grant will remain available for two years.
Sindh HEC’s previous SRSP records show that the program has supported research projects through multiple funding rounds.
According to the commission, 57 projects were approved in 2025-26, with Rs. 111.4 million distributed. Since the program began in 2020, the commission has funded projects across different research disciplines.
Application Requirements
Applicants must use the prescribed SRSP application form and submit the required supporting documents listed in the form.
The research proposal must receive endorsement from the Director ORIC and the Head of the University/HEI before submission. Applicants must combine the application form and other required documents into one PDF file.

After obtaining the required institutional endorsements, candidates must combine the application form and supporting documents into a single PDF and email the complete file to ad.academics@sindhhec.gov.pk.
Sindh HEC has stated that incomplete or late applications will not be considered. The final date for submission is October 23, 2026.
