Sindh Bans Issuance of New Arms Licences
The Sindh government has imposed an immediate ban on the issuance of new arms licences and arms dealership licences across the province until further orders.
According to a spokesperson for the Sindh home minister, all licensing authorities must stop issuing new arms licences during the ban. Authorities will also suspend the issuance of new licences for arms dealerships.
The spokesperson said the government introduced the measure to strengthen the regulation and control of firearms across Sindh.
However, authorities may issue an arms licence in exceptional cases after obtaining specific approval from the competent authority, including the home minister or chief minister, where applicable under the relevant rules and procedures.
The spokesperson said the government has directed all concerned licensing authorities to strictly implement the decision.
