SIFC to Fix Business Environment of Gilgit Baltistan
The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has engaged with business representatives from Hunza to address regulatory and operational hurdles affecting businesses and explore measures to improve the investment and business environment in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Secretary SIFC held a meeting with representatives of the Hunza Chamber of Commerce & Industry, local hotel, traders and food associations to discuss issues faced by the local business community.
The representatives highlighted regulatory and operational challenges affecting commercial activity in Hunza. They called for simpler regulatory requirements, better coordination among government authorities and stronger institutional engagement to ensure business-related issues are resolved in a timely manner.
The Secretary SIFC emphasized the need for a predictable and business-friendly environment to encourage private-sector activity, attract investment and support sustainable economic growth in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The meeting also discussed practical measures to remove regulatory bottlenecks and reduce the compliance burden on businesses operating in the region.
The Council said it would continue engaging with businesses to address legitimate concerns and help unlock the region’s economic and investment potential.
