Riphah University Expands Global Footprint Through Strategic Agreements with Leading Türkish Universities

Following bilateral engagements between the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan and the Council of Higher Education (CoHE), Türkiye, on September 13, OIC-COMSTECH & APSUP hosted a high-level reception at Islamabad Club on September 14, bringing together senior academic leadership from Pakistan and Türkiye.
The engagement provided a valuable platform for strengthening institutional ties and advancing Pakistan–Türkiye cooperation in higher education. The event was graced by Chairman HEC, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar (S.I.), and Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan, H.E. Dr. İrfan Neziroğlu.
Marking a significant step in Riphah International University’s internationalization journey, agreements were signed with three distinguished Turkish universities:
- Yıldız Technical University (Est. 1911) — A leading institution with a longstanding legacy in engineering, science, and technology.
- Dokuz Eylül University (Est. 1982) — A prominent public university recognized for research excellence and multidisciplinary education.
- Sabancı University (Est. 1994) — A globally recognized institution distinguished for innovation, research, and interdisciplinary education.
Riphah was represented by Chancellor Mr. Hassan Muhammad Khan, Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Yawar Hayat Khan, Head of International Office Mr. M. Nauman Mansoor, and Dean FSSH Prof. Dr. Abdulhamit Birışık.
These strategic partnerships extend beyond academic exchange, creating new avenues for joint research, faculty and student mobility, knowledge sharing, and cross-border innovation.
Through such collaborations, Riphah continues to strengthen its global academic network and contribute to deeper and more sustainable higher education cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye.
