Redmi Note 17 Pro Gets a Refreshed Edition With Hardly Anything Refreshed

Redmi has launched a refreshed version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro in China.

The updated model brings new color options and a revised set of memory configurations, but the processor, battery, cameras and display remain unchanged from the version launched in July.

Design and Display

The refreshed Redmi Note 17 Pro is available in Sand Orange, Energetic Green and Black.

Sand Orange and Energetic Green are new, while Black carries over from the original model. The earlier version was also available in White, Sky Blue and Nebula Purple, but those colors are no longer part of the refreshed lineup.

The phone retains its 6.83-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The panel can reach up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness and supports 3,840Hz PWM dimming as well as DC-like dimming.

For protection, the display uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and carries SGS and CQC five-star drop resistance certifications.

The device also keeps its IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. It has additionally passed TÜV SÜD’s 72-hour waterproof certification.

Internals and Software

The refreshed Redmi Note 17 Pro continues to use the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor.

Redmi has changed the available memory options. The new lineup includes 6GB RAM with 256GB storage, 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.

The original model was available with 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 8GB + 512GB, and 12GB + 256GB configurations.

This means the refreshed version removes the higher-end 8GB + 512GB and 12GB + 256GB variants while introducing a new 6GB + 256GB option.

Cameras

The camera hardware remains unchanged.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro continues to feature a 50MP main rear camera, with no camera upgrades introduced as part of this refresh.

Battery and Pricing

The Chinese Redmi Note 17 Pro retains its large 9,000mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery with support for 67W wired charging.

The 6GB + 256GB and 8GB + 128GB versions are both priced at CNY 1,599, or around $239.

This gives buyers the option of choosing either more RAM or more storage at the same starting price.

The 8GB + 256GB model costs CNY 1,699, or approximately $254.

For comparison, the original 8GB + 128GB version also launched at CNY 1,599.

Global Version Has a Smaller Battery

The global Redmi Note 17 Pro differs from the Chinese version in one major area.

The international model launched in late August with an 8,340mAh battery, compared with the 9,000mAh battery used in China.

The global Redmi Note 17 Pro started at $400.
