The Punjab government has dropped an inflation bomb on bright and deserving students studying at public medical and dental colleges.
According to sources, the government has raised fees at public medical and dental colleges by over 300 percent. Tuition fees at public colleges have been increased from Rs15,000 to Rs50,000.
The staggering fee hike has made medical education even harder to attain for poor and middle-class students who secure admission on merit.
Students and parents have demanded that the government withdraw its decision to raise the fees.
