Punjab Plans New Classroom-on-Wheels and Library-on-Wheels Projects
An important meeting of the Literacy Department was held under the chairmanship of Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, where ongoing projects under the department were reviewed and progress was briefed.
The minister expressed satisfaction over a 25 percent increase in enrolment at literacy centres during the past year.
He said the Literacy Department was playing a significant role despite limited resources.
Rana Sikandar Hayat directed that new Classroom on Wheels and Library on Wheels projects be launched next year.
He also instructed the department to expand the scope of the Middle Tech project further.
The meeting also ordered work to make North Punjab and the Potohar region free of out-of-school children.
The Literacy Department was also given a target of enrolling 40,000 more out-of-school children into the education system.
