The Punjab government has approved 332 new appointments for the Transport Authority across the province.
Under the approval, 25 transport officers in Grade 14 and 25 junior transport officers in Grade 11 will be recruited.
In addition, 123 head constables and 123 constables will also be hired for the Punjab Transport Authority.
According to the Transport Department, 36 drivers will also be recruited on a lump-sum salary package. Their pay package will be decided by a selection board headed by the chief secretary.
All 332 officers and staff members will initially be appointed on a three-year contract.
Officials said no additional funds will be provided for these recruitments and all expenses will be met from the existing budget.
The appointments are expected to help address staff shortages in Punjab’s 36 district transport authorities.
