Punjab Announces Deadline to Install Road Signs on New Roads
The Punjab government has directed officials to install road signs and complete lane markings on newly constructed roads across the province by October 25.
The instructions were issued by Provincial Minister for Communications and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth during a meeting held to review progress on road construction under the Local Road Programme.
The minister also directed officials to ensure the timely use of funds allocated for road projects and complete ongoing work according to schedule.
During the meeting, field officials briefed participants on the progress of road construction under the program, which is being implemented in line with the Punjab chief minister’s vision.
Bharth said the program was moving rapidly toward completion, with road projects across the province being completed on time.
He added that improved road infrastructure was providing better travel facilities to the public and contributing to social and economic development.
The meeting was attended by Communications and Works Secretary Raja Jahangir Anwar, the additional secretary, and special secretaries, while executive engineers (XENs) and superintending engineers (SEs) participated online.
