PTI Leader Shot Dead in Lahore

A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader from Okara, Chaudhry Abdullah Tahir, was killed in a gun attack during a visit to a clinic in Lahore on Wednesday.

Police said two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on Tahir in the Gulberg area. He sustained serious bullet wounds and died from his injuries.

Dr Riaz Khan also suffered bullet injuries in the attack.

Family sources confirmed Tahir’s death and said he had travelled from Okara to Lahore for a routine medical check-up. Tahir was a known political figure in Okara and had contested the 2018 Punjab Assembly election on the PTI ticket.

Police said forensic experts collected evidence from the crime scene, while investigators have registered a case and launched a search for the attackers.
