PSL 12 Tentative Schedule Revealed
The 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is tentatively scheduled to begin on March 19, with the final expected to be played on May 2.
The proposed window has been agreed upon in principle, while the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to confirm the dates after consulting the franchises.
The league’s broadcaster had pushed for a January start, arguing that an earlier window would help attract sponsorships. Franchise owners, however, preferred an April window, leading the PCB to settle on the March 19-May 2 period for now.
Ramadan is expected to begin on February 8 next year, meaning PSL 12 will take place after Eid.
The tournament will once again overlap with the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is scheduled to run from March 10 to May 15.
A similar overlap has occurred in recent years without having a significant impact on the PSL. Pakistani fans have continued to prioritize the domestic league, while TV ratings have also remained largely unaffected. Officials are hopeful that the trend will continue next season.
Several prominent overseas players who do not feature in the IPL could also take part in PSL 12.
The date for the player auction has not yet been finalized, although some franchises have already started contacting foreign players. Several high-profile names could also make their PSL debuts next season.
Preparations are currently moving at a slower pace but are expected to gather momentum once the schedule is officially announced.
The venues and other logistical arrangements are also expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.
