PMDC Clarifies FSc Marks Requirement for MBBS, BDS Admissions

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has clarified that the minimum marks requirement for admission to MBBS and BDS programs has not been relaxed, dismissing reports suggesting a change in eligibility criteria.

In a clarification issued in response to reports circulating on digital media, the council said candidates must secure at least 60% marks in FSc Pre-Medical or an equivalent examination to qualify for admission to medical and dental colleges across Pakistan.

The PMDC said its admission regulations make the minimum 60% intermediate-level marks mandatory for admission to both public and private medical and dental colleges. Candidates must also meet other applicable regulatory requirements.

The clarification comes amid reports concerning the eligibility criteria for medical and dental admissions. The council emphasized that the existing requirement remains in force and has not been changed.

The announcement applies to MBBS and BDS admissions nationwide, reinforcing the minimum academic qualification candidates must meet when applying to medical and dental programs.
