Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a relief package for the families of Pakistanis killed in Somalia.
He said each bereaved family would receive financial assistance of Rs12.5 million, along with a house, free education for children and health facilities.
The prime minister also spoke by telephone with Azhan Kashif, the son of Pakistani Kashif Umar who was killed in Somalia, and offered condolences to the family.
Shehbaz Sharif said the government would not leave the grieving families alone during this difficult time.
He also directed authorities to speed up efforts to bring back the bodies of the three Pakistanis who lost their lives during the recovery operation from the hijacked ship, provide the injured with the best possible medical treatment, and ensure the safe return of the other Pakistani staff still in Somalia.
