Pakistan’s World Bowling Championship Participation in Doubt
Pakistan’s participation in the World Tenpin Bowling Championship in Germany remains uncertain as the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has yet to release funds for the national team.
The championship is scheduled to take place in Munich from October 12 to 21, with players from around 48 countries expected to compete.
Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) President Ijaz-ur-Rehman told the media that the federation had not received funding from the PSB for the team’s participation in the tournament.
A four-member squad comprising Ahmer Saldeira, Ghazanfar Bilal, Daniyal-ur-Rehman, and Muhammad Mueez was selected to represent Pakistan, with Muhammad Hussain Chatta named as team manager.
Earlier, the PTBF president had said that the selected players were undergoing intensive training for the championship and expressed confidence in their ability to perform well at the international event.
The tournament is expected to feature players from several countries, including the United States, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Australia, Kuwait, China, Canada, Spain, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
