Pakistan’s Inflation Drops Below 10%, Still Double Than Last Year

Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation (General) increased 9.2 percent year-on-year (YoY) in July 2026, compared with 11.1 percent YoY in the previous month and 4.1 percent YoY in July 2025.

On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, CPI inflation increased 1.2 percent in July 2026, compared with a 0.3 percent decline MoM in the previous month and a 2.9 percent increase MoM in July 2025.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation (Urban) increased 8.7 percent YoY in July 2026, compared with 11.2 percent YoY in the previous month and 4.4 percent YoY in July 2025. On a MoM basis, it increased 1.2 percent in July 2026, compared with a 0.5 percent decline in the previous month and a 3.4 percent increase in July 2025.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation (Rural) increased 9.9 percent YoY in July 2026, compared with 10.9 percent YoY in the previous month and 3.5 percent YoY in July 2025. On a MoM basis, it increased 1.2 percent in July 2026, compared with no change in the previous month and a 2.2 percent increase in July 2025.

Sensitive Price Index (SPI) inflation increased 12.0 percent YoY in July 2026, compared with 12.8 percent YoY in the previous month and a 0.9 percent decline YoY in July 2025. On a MoM basis, SPI inflation increased 2.4 percent in July 2026, compared with 0.7 percent in the previous month and 3.1 percent in July 2025.

Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation increased 9.4 percent YoY in July 2026, compared with 10.7 percent YoY in the previous month and a 0.5 percent decline YoY in July 2025. On a MoM basis, WPI inflation remained unchanged in July 2026, compared with a 1.2 percent decline in the previous month and a 1.2 percent increase in July 2025.

Core inflation, measured by Non-Food Non-Energy (NFNE) Urban, increased 8.6 percent YoY in July 2026, compared with 8.7 percent YoY in the previous month and 7.0 percent YoY in July 2025. On a MoM basis, it increased 0.7 percent, compared with a 0.1 percent decline in the previous month and a 0.8 percent increase in July 2025.

Core inflation, measured by Non-Food Non-Energy (NFNE) Rural, increased 8.1 percent YoY in July 2026, compared with 7.9 percent YoY in the previous month and 8.1 percent YoY in July 2025. On a MoM basis, it increased 0.9 percent, compared with 0.2 percent in the previous month and 0.7 percent in July 2025.

Core inflation, measured by the 20 percent Weighted Trimmed Mean (Urban), increased 7.5 percent YoY in July 2026, compared with 9.6 percent YoY in the previous month and 5.1 percent YoY in July 2025. On a MoM basis, it increased 0.6 percent, compared with 0.3 percent in the previous month and 1.0 percent in July 2025.

Core inflation, measured by the 20 percent Weighted Trimmed Mean (Rural), increased 8.0 percent YoY in July 2026, compared with 9.3 percent YoY in the previous month and 4.9 percent YoY in July 2025. On a MoM basis, it increased 1.0 percent, compared with 0.5 percent in the previous month and 0.7 percent in July 2025.
