Pakistan Railways to Upgrade Lahore Station
Pakistan Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has ordered the immediate replacement of substandard benches at Lahore Railway Station following a surprise inspection.
During the visit, Abbasi reviewed expansion work on platforms 2 and 4. He expressed displeasure over the quality of benches installed on platform 4 and directed officials to remove them and provide better-quality seating.
The minister also instructed officials to relocate the divisional superintendent’s office to Lahore Railway Station to improve oversight of passenger services.
He said moving the office would allow closer monitoring of facilities, ongoing development projects and staff performance at the station.
Abbasi inspected the family and executive lounges, reviewing air conditioning and other amenities available to travelers. Passengers thanked him for the facilities provided in the air-conditioned halls.
The minister said providing passengers with comfortable, quality travel was a top priority and stressed that there would be no compromise on the standard of facilities at railway stations.
The visit focused on both the ongoing platform expansion and improvements to everyday passenger services.
