Pakistan has advised citizens travelling by road between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to preferably obtain double-entry or multiple-entry visas to avoid problems at border crossings.
Ambassador Mudassir Tipu said travellers should make sure they have the required visas before crossing the Uzbekistan-Tajikistan border.
He said some Pakistani citizens had already faced difficulties because they did not have the necessary visas.
In some cases, resolving the matter with the relevant authorities took 10 to 14 days due to lengthy and complex procedures, he added.
Tipu said the lack of proper visas had caused unnecessary distress and inconvenience for some travellers.
He urged citizens planning to travel between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to carefully check and verify their visas and other travel documents before starting their journey.
The ambassador said advance verification of documents would help travellers avoid complications, delays and inconvenience at border crossings.
