Only 3 Out of 1,024 Candidates Pass KP Civil Judge Exam

Only three out of 1,024 candidates have passed the written examination conducted by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) for 105 vacant posts of Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate and Alaqa Qazi.

The results, announced by the commission, showed an exceptionally low overall success rate despite thousands of applications for the BPS-18 positions advertised by the Peshawar High Court in April 2026.

According to the commission, 3,097 applications were received for the vacancies. All applicants were provisionally admitted to the syllabus-based written examination, while 1,024 candidates eventually appeared.

Only Saba Rasool from South Waziristan, Abdullah Noor from Bajaur, and Sayed Zahid Hussain from Mardan qualified for the written examination.

The subject-wise results showed that English General and English Essay proved particularly difficult for candidates. Of the 1,024 candidates who appeared in the paper, only 149 passed, while 875, or around 85 percent, failed.

In Urdu General and Urdu Essay, 369 out of 654 candidates passed, resulting in a pass rate of around 57 percent. Candidates performed considerably better in Pashto General and Pashto Essay, where 335 out of 340 candidates passed, representing a 96 percent success rate.

General Knowledge also recorded a high failure rate. Of the 1,005 candidates who appeared in the paper, 687, or around 68 percent, were unsuccessful.

In Civil Law-I, 587 out of 996 candidates passed, giving a success rate of about 59 percent. Civil Law-II was cleared by 537 out of 996 candidates.

The Criminal Law paper recorded stronger results, with 803 out of 996 candidates passing, equivalent to a success rate of around 81 percent.

A total of 697 out of 993 candidates passed Islamic Jurisprudence, while 775 out of 995 candidates successfully cleared the Qanun-e-Shahadat 1984 and Pleadings paper.

KPPSC has directed the three successful candidates to submit the required duly signed documents within 15 days.

The commission also stated that candidates seeking re-totaling of their marks may submit an application for the purpose.
