NUMS Announces Postgraduate Admissions for Spring 2027

The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) has opened admissions for its Spring 2027 postgraduate programs, including PhD, MPhil, Master’s, diploma, and clinical certification courses.

According to the official admission schedule, online applications opened on October 6, 2026. Candidates can apply with the regular processing fee until October 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM.

NUMS will also accept late applications until November 4, 2026, at 4:00 PM with a higher processing fee.

The university has opened admissions in medical sciences, psychology, public health, nursing, dental sciences, cardiology, radiology, and several other health-related fields.

Programs Offered

NUMS is offering PhD admissions in Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine, Pharmacology, Public Health, Science of Dental Materials, Pathology, and Psychology.

MPhil programs include Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Molecular Medicine, Community Medicine, Science of Dental Materials, Oral Pathology, Chemical Pathology, Microbiology, Haematology, and Psychology.

At the Master’s level, NUMS is offering Masters in Health Professions Education, MS Clinical Psychology, MS Transfusion Medicine, MSc Cardiac Anesthesia, and Master of Science in Nursing.

According to the admission notice, the Master of Science in Nursing program is available for female candidates only.

NUMS is also offering a Diploma in Cardiology along with clinical certification programs in Interventional Radiology and Hybrid Imaging (PET-CT Scan).

Application Fee and Deadlines

Candidates applying by October 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM will have to pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 3,000.

Those who miss the regular deadline can submit late applications until November 4, 2026, at 4:00 PM with a non-refundable fee of Rs. 5,000.

NUMS requires a separate processing fee for each program if a candidate applies to more than one course.

Entry Test Schedule

NUMS will conduct entry tests for different postgraduate programs on November 17 and 18, 2026. Tests for MS Transfusion Medicine, Diploma in Cardiology, selected PhD programs, and MSc Cardiac Anesthesia are scheduled for November 17.

The university has scheduled tests for programs including PhD Psychology, MPhil Psychology, MS Clinical Psychology, Masters in Health Professions Education, and Master of Science in Nursing for November 18.

The tests will begin at 10:00 AM, while candidates must report by 9:00 AM. NUMS plans to issue admit cards from November 12, 2026. The exact test venue will appear on each candidate’s admit card.

MS Clinical Psychology Assessment

Candidates applying for MS Clinical Psychology who qualify for the entry test will also have to appear in a psychological assessment. NUMS has scheduled the assessment for November 26, 2026.

Interviews and Merit List

The university plans to conduct interviews for different postgraduate programs between December 1 and December 8, 2026. NUMS will display the merit list for all programs on December 16, 2026.

Documents Required

Applicants must complete the admission process online and upload the required personal and academic documents.

NUMS requires candidates to provide an updated one-page CV, recent photograph, CNIC, and relevant academic degrees and transcripts.

Candidates who have not yet received their final degree can submit a provisional degree certificate issued by their university or institute.

Depending on the program, applicants may also need to provide professional registration certificates, work experience documents, an employer NOC, research proposals, or relevant test results.

Applicants for MPhil Psychology and MS Clinical Psychology must also submit a research proposal.

GAT and HAT Requirements

Candidates applying for MPhil Basic Sciences at Army Medical College or AFPGMI must have a valid GAT or HAT General result with at least 50% cumulative marks.

Some PhD programs may also require valid GRE, GAT, or HAT subject test results, depending on the eligibility requirements of the program. NUMS will call only shortlisted candidates for interviews.

Overseas Pakistani Category

NUMS has also included an Overseas Pakistani category for eligible applicants. This category covers children of Pakistanis living or working abroad on a valid residence or work visa, dual nationals with the required documents, and children of government or armed forces employees posted abroad.
Eligibility depends on the overseas status of the candidate’s parent.

Applicants under this category may need to provide documents such as the parent’s NICOP or POC, passport, valid visa, residence permit, and proof of overseas employment.

How to Apply

Candidates must submit their applications through the NUMS online admission system. NUMS will accept applications online only and will not accept hard copies.

Applicants must complete the online form, generate the application processing fee challan, pay the required fee, upload the paid challan, and select the final submission option.

Candidates should carefully check their information and required documents before submitting the application.

When Will Classes Begin

Classes for Diploma in Cardiology, PhD, MPhil, Masters in Health Professions Education, MS Transfusion Medicine, MSc Cardiac Anesthesia, and Master of Science in Nursing are scheduled to begin on January 4, 2027.

Classes for PhD Psychology, MPhil Psychology, MS Clinical Psychology, and clinical certification programs are scheduled to start on February 15, 2027.
