LDA Seals 32 Illegal Hostels and Hotels in Lahore

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has launched a crackdown on hotels and hostels operating illegally in residential areas of Lahore.

As part of the operation, the LDA’s Town Planning Wing Zone IV sealed 32 buildings in the R2 and R3 blocks of Johar Town that were being used as hotels and hostels.

According to LDA officials, a large number of such establishments are operating near government and private educational institutions in different parts of the city.

The areas identified by the authority include Johar Town, College Road, Khayaban-e-Firdosi, UMT Road, Architect Society, Revenue Society, Township, residential areas near Defence, and Raiwind Road.

Officials said many of these properties were either constructed according to residential building plans or built without approved plans before being converted into commercial hostels and hotels.

The authority said these unregulated businesses were creating several problems for nearby residents, including parking congestion, blocked drainage systems, and other forms of public nuisance.

LDA Director Ahmed Saeed said the operation would continue and all illegal hotels and hostels operating within his jurisdiction would be sealed.
