The Junaid Family Foundation (JFF) has announced its sponsorship of the World Tennis Women’s 15,000 Futures Tennis Tournament, scheduled to take place in Islamabad from October 12 to 17.
The tournament, sanctioned by World Tennis and organised in partnership with the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), is expected to feature around 40 international players alongside emerging Pakistani female tennis players.
JFF said the sponsorship reflects its broader focus on women’s empowerment, health, wellbeing and development.
The foundation has previously supported healthcare and development initiatives in Pakistan, including maternal and child nutrition programs.
Ansir Junaid, Chairman of the Junaid Family Foundation, said the organization’s support for women extends beyond healthcare initiatives.
“Investing in women’s health has always meant more to us than clinical interventions,” he said. “This tournament lets us support world-class athletes while putting a spotlight on the health and wellbeing of women and girls across Pakistan.”
Junaid said the event would be part of an important period for women’s tennis in Pakistan, with another Futures tournament and the Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania competition also scheduled to bring further attention to the sport.
The tournament will give Pakistani players an opportunity to compete against international opponents on home soil and gain experience in competitive tennis.
