The PC version of GTA V has been demonstrated running at up to 80 FPS on an iPhone 18 Pro Max using Vapor, an experimental project designed to run PC and Mac games on Apple devices.
Vapor developer StephenDev0 published the full benchmark on September 27. The game averaged 66 FPS during the city-driving section of GTA V’s built-in benchmark, while other scenes averaged around 80 FPS.
GTA V Runs at 1080p
The test ran at 1080p using DirectX 11. Texture quality was set to High, while FXAA and 16x anisotropic filtering were enabled. Population density was set to 75%, distance scaling to 50%, and sharp shadows were enabled.
MSAA was turned off, while the remaining graphics settings were set to Normal.

GTA V does not have a native iPhone version. Vapor instead works to run software originally built for PC and Mac on Apple hardware, using translation technologies including JIT to handle software that was not originally designed for iOS.
That adds extra processing overhead compared with running a game built natively for the device.
Powered by Apple’s A20 Pro
The iPhone 18 Pro Max uses Apple’s A20 Pro chip. Reports covering the benchmark have compared its GTA V performance with Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1650, an entry-level desktop graphics card released in 2019.
However, this comparison should be treated cautiously because the benchmark does not provide a controlled side-by-side test using identical hardware conditions, power measurements, and frame-time data.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max also uses an upgraded cooling design intended to improve sustained performance under demanding workloads.
Vapor remains a work in progress. The developer said there are still minor issues that need to be fixed, meaning the current results should not be treated as final performance figures.
The benchmark nevertheless shows that the PC version of GTA V can currently run above 60 FPS on the iPhone 18 Pro Max at 1080p through Vapor, despite the additional translation required to run the game on iOS.
