Amazon’s annual Prime Big Deal Days event is upon us and will run from Tuesday, Oct. 6, through Wednesday, Oct. 7.
To kick off the celebration extra early, Amazon is giving Prime members three free months of Kindle Unlimited. Typically $11.99 per month, that’s a total of $35.97 in savings. The deal is available for both new and returning subscribers who are also Prime members. You’ll have until the Prime Big Deal Days event wraps up on Oct. 8 to sign up for free.
I sign up for this deal whenever I’m eligible (generally a few times per year during Prime events), which means I have to cancel every so often. But Kindle Unlimited is one of the only subscriptions I do actually pay for throughout the rest of the year. I cannot recommend it enough for anyone looking to up their reading numbers.
As the name suggests, Kindle Unlimited essentially gives you unlimited access to as many titles as you want via the Kindle app. Technically, you can only borrow up to 20 books at a time, but you can return them and borrow more whenever you wish. There are no wait times or due dates like Libby (no shade to the beloved free library app), so you can read new releases and popular titles at your own pace.
Not every book will be included in Kindle Unlimited, but the library is brimming with excellent picks, from BookTok favorites to classics to brand-new releases. Currently, you can find popular titles like Just For the Plot by Meghan Quinn, The Last to Drown by Noelle W. Ihli, and Saving Noah by Lucinda Berry, as well as series like Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman, Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion by Beth Brower.
You don’t even need a Kindle to take advantage of Kindle Unlimited. You can simply download the Kindle app to any compatible device and read from anywhere. Of course, a Kindle will give you the best user experience with the app, and there’s a good chance you’ll find one on sale during the Prime Big Deal Days event (we’ll keep you updated).
You’ll automatically be charged the full $11.99 cost per month once the free promotional period ends, so be sure to cancel if you want to avoid that charge. Though I truly think Kindle Unlimited is one of those rare subscriptions that is actually worth the price.
