UK Announces Fully Funded Master’s Scholarships for Pakistani Students
The UK government’s Chevening program has partnered with Allied Bank Limited (ABL) to offer fully funded master’s scholarships to Pakistani students at leading universities in the United Kingdom.
According to the British High Commission, the Chevening-ABL Scholarship program will support two Pakistani students annually for three academic years, starting in 2027-28.
The scholarships will focus on artificial intelligence, technology, cybersecurity, digital transformation, economics, and financial inclusion.
The first two scholars will be selected from the existing Chevening applicant pool for the 2027-28 academic year. Applications for the 2028-29 scholarships are expected to open in August 2027, with successful candidates beginning their studies in the UK in 2028.
British High Commissioner Jane Marriott welcomed the partnership, saying it would help talented Pakistani students study at leading UK universities and return with new ideas and skills.
ABL President and CEO Aizid Gill, who received a Chevening scholarship in 2001 to study at the University of Manchester, said the initiative would help Pakistani students gain international exposure and develop skills to contribute to the country’s future.
Chevening is the UK government’s international scholarship program, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organizations.
The program offers fully funded one-year master’s degrees at UK universities, covering tuition fees, living expenses, and travel costs.
