Toyota Recalls Over 100,000 Vehicles Over Fire Risk

Toyota is recalling 105,794 vehicles in the United States over a potential fuel leak that could increase the risk of fire, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The recall affects certain 2024-2027 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid vehicles. The US auto safety regulator said a problem with the fuel tube connection near the fuel tank could cause the connection to disconnect, allowing fuel to leak.

If leaking fuel reaches an ignition source, it could cause a fire, increasing the risk to vehicle occupants and others nearby.

To resolve the issue, Toyota dealers will install a supplemental clamp or replace the resin fuel tube, depending on the required repair. The company will carry out the repairs free of charge, NHTSA said.

Owners of affected vehicles can check whether their SUVs fall under the recall and contact an authorized Toyota dealer for further information about the repair process.

The recall covers vehicles from multiple model years, highlighting the importance of addressing the fuel tube connection issue to reduce the potential fire hazard.
