Touchscreen MacBook Pro May Finally Launch Next Month
Apple is reportedly preparing to launch its first touchscreen MacBook Pro models next month, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
The new laptops are expected to come in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes with OLED touchscreen displays.
Design and Display
Gurman says the new MacBook Pros will be significantly lighter than the current models.
Apple has reportedly redesigned the internal component layout to reduce weight, although no exact figure has been revealed.
The biggest change will be the move to OLED panels with touchscreen support, marking a major shift for the MacBook lineup.
Internals and Software
The new MacBook Pros are expected to use Apple’s M6 chip.
Apple is also reportedly testing the laptops with macOS 27.2.
iPad mini Could Also Get OLED
The MacBook Pro will not be the only Apple device expected to receive an OLED upgrade.
Apple is also reportedly planning an OLED iPad mini.
The tablet is expected to keep the same 8.3-inch screen size, and there is currently no information suggesting a major redesign.
