Thousands of Schools in Punjab Face 2-Month Payment Delay
Around 4,300 schools operating under the Punjab Education Initiatives Management Authority (PEIMA) are facing financial difficulties as payments for August and September remain pending.
According to school owners, the two-month delay has affected nearly 20,000 teachers and school administrators, who are struggling to meet household and operational expenses.
They said around 600,000 students are enrolled in these schools, making the timely release of funds essential to ensure that educational activities continue without disruption.
Meanwhile, PEIMA officials said payments to licensed schools are being released in phases and assured that the remaining dues would be cleared soon.
