SBP Reserves Gain $1.2 Billion in One Week
Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves witnessed a huge increase during the week ended September 04, 2026.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), its foreign exchange reserves rose by $1.2 billion over the week to $18.3 billion, up from $17.118 billion a week earlier.
The country’s total liquid foreign reserves stood at $23.716 billion as of September 04, up by $1.187 billion.
This includes $18.3 billion held by the SBP and $5.388 billion maintained by commercial banks.
Reserves with commercial banks are down by $22.5 million compared to a week earlier.
The current level of reserves roughly offers an import cover of roughly 2.74 months.
