Samsung appears to be preparing a new pair of clip-on wireless earbuds called the Galaxy Buds On, with leaked graphics revealing several smart features.
The device first surfaced in April under the name Galaxy Buds Able and carried the unusual SM-U600 model number instead of the SM-R naming convention Samsung normally uses for Galaxy Buds products.
New design vectors shared by SammyGuru now suggest the earbuds will launch as the Galaxy Buds On.
Clip-On Open-Ear Design
The leaked images show a black clip-on design that sits around the ear rather than sealing the ear canal like conventional in-ear earbuds.
This open-ear approach allows users to remain more aware of their surroundings, although outside noise can also make audio harder to hear.
Samsung appears to be addressing that issue with automatic volume adjustment.
According to the leak, the Galaxy Buds On could increase volume in louder environments such as airports or train stations and reduce it again when the surroundings become quieter.
Head Gesture Controls
The earbuds are also expected to support head gestures, similar to features Samsung introduced with the Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro.
The exact commands have not been revealed, but such gestures could potentially be used for playback or call controls.
Voice commands are also reportedly supported.
Users may be able to start a voice memo or activate Gemini and Bixby without reaching for their phone.
Sleep Detection
Another leaked feature is sleep detection.
The earbuds could detect when the wearer falls asleep and automatically pause whatever is playing.
This would prevent music, podcasts, or other audio from continuing throughout the night.
Launch Details Still Unknown
Samsung has not officially announced the Galaxy Buds On and has not confirmed their final name, specifications, or release date.
The leaked features could therefore change before launch.
However, the appearance of product references inside Samsung software earlier this year and the newly leaked design graphics suggest the clip-on earbuds are moving closer to an official release.
