RDA Issues Show Cause Notices to 2 Housing Schemes

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued show-cause notices to the owners of Taj Residencia and Saffron City housing schemes over alleged violations of approved plans and rules for private housing schemes.

The action came as the RDA intensified enforcement against illegal and unauthorized housing schemes and their extensions in areas under its jurisdiction.

According to the RDA spokesperson, Taj Residencia received a notice over the alleged promotion and booking of plots in Lotus, Cosmos and Blue Bell blocks, which the authority says do not form part of its approved layout plan. The alleged extension covers Mouza Kak and Sikihpur in Rawalpindi.

The RDA also issued a notice to Saffron City management over alleged advertising, marketing and booking of plots without obtaining the required NOC or sanction from the authority. The RDA has approved 2,424 kanals for Taj Residencia and 882.85 kanals for Saffron City.

The authority directed the owner of Taj Residencia to stop the alleged violations, restore the scheme according to the approved layout plan and submit a response within seven days. Failure to comply could result in further legal action under the relevant laws.

The RDA has also contacted NAB Rawalpindi, IESCO, SNGPL, PTCL, the District Collector and EPA regarding alleged illegal advertisements for private housing schemes on social media.

The spokesperson said some private owners and developers were allegedly claiming that their schemes had obtained RDA NOCs. The authority advised citizens to verify the approval status of housing schemes through the official RDA website before investing or purchasing plots.
