Rain is expected in Lahore and several other parts of Punjab during the next 24 hours, with the possibility of strong winds, thunderstorms, heavy rain and hail in some areas, according to the Meteorological Department.
The department said Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Khushab, Sargodha, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Lahore, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Vehari, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and adjoining areas could receive rain during the period. Other parts of Punjab are likely to remain dry.
Several areas received rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms during the past 24 hours, while some areas also experienced heavy rain and hail. In Lahore, the minimum temperature stood at 26 degrees Celsius and the maximum reached 31 degrees Celsius, while humidity remained at 53 percent.
The city’s overall air quality index (AQI) stood at 138. The AQI was recorded at 132 in Phase 5 DHA, 105 on Barki Road, 105 at ARC Lahore, 144 in Model Town, 168 at Air Watch Pakistan, 84 in Askari 10, 124 on Bedian Road and 114 in Allama Iqbal Town.
