Punjab University to Launch Human-Centered AI Lab
Punjab University’s Faculty of Computing and Information Technology is set to inaugurate a Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence Laboratory on October 7 as part of a broader academic and research collaboration between Pakistan and Türkiye.
The laboratory has been established through cooperation between the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Punjab University.
A high-level Turkish delegation will attend the inauguration ceremony, including TIKA Vice President Ali Ercan. Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mahmood Saleem and other officials are also expected to participate.
During the event, guests will be briefed on the establishment of the laboratory, its activities so far, and its future plans.
The new facility will include modern computing and server infrastructure and will provide researchers, faculty members, and students from Pakistan and Türkiye with a platform to collaborate on artificial intelligence research and academic projects.
The initiative is intended to strengthen cooperation in human-centered artificial intelligence while creating opportunities for joint research, knowledge sharing, and academic exchange.
Punjab University has also signed an academic and research cooperation agreement with Yildiz Technical University of Türkiye in the field of human-centered artificial intelligence.
The ceremony will conclude with the presentation of commemorative gifts to the Turkish delegation, followed by a group photograph and the delegation’s departure.
