Punjab Police to File FIRs Against Officers Wearing Uniforms Without Name Badges

Police authorities have ordered cases to be registered against personnel found without nameplates on their uniforms.

According to police sources, officers often set up checkpoints at night and check citizens, which has led to multiple complaints about personnel conducting checks without nameplates.

Following the complaints, senior officials issued the orders.

Sources said some personnel were even detained on Canal Road for checking citizens without wearing nameplates.

All SHOs have been instructed to take immediate action against officers who conduct checks without nameplates.

Police authorities have also appealed to citizens to call 15 immediately if any officer stops them for checking without a nameplate.
