The Punjab School Education Department has issued a new directive on school performance in the 9th Class Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education annual examinations.
According to the notification, the policy creates a two-part system of rewards and accountability across all 36 districts of the province.
Teachers whose students secure more than 80 percent marks will receive special badges and certificates of appreciation.
Head teachers, teachers and students will be given appreciation certificates for results between 60 and 79 percent.
The department said cases involving head teachers and teachers of BS-17 will be referred to the relevant department.
The directive, sent to all Chief Executive Officers of District Education Authorities, also requires formal disciplinary action under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability Act, 2006 against head teachers and subject teachers where the pass rate falls below 20 percent.
Officials have been asked to submit a departmental action report to the Director of Public Instruction within 15 days.
