Punjab Announces Forensic Science Jobs With Salaries Up to Rs. 11 Lac

The Punjab Forensic Science Authority (PFSA) has announced 37 job opportunities for qualified professionals, with monthly salaries reaching Rs. 1.1 million for the highest-paid position.

According to the official advertisement, PFSA is hiring for senior management, forensic scientist, and junior forensic scientist positions on a contract basis.

Candidates must hold Punjab domicile to apply. The vacancies are for PFSA Lahore, its training laboratory, and Crime Scene Units or satellite stations across Punjab. The last date to apply is October 18, 2026.

Salaries

PFSA is offering a special pay package for the advertised positions. The Additional Director General (Forensics) will receive Rs. 1.1 million per month.

The Director Forensic and Manager (Pathology & Histology) positions carry a salary of Rs. 750,000 per month, along with a 10% annual increase.

Forensic Scientist (Pathology & Histology) positions offer Rs. 375,000 per month, while other Forensic Scientist positions offer Rs. 325,000 per month. Both categories carry a 10% annual increase.

Junior Forensic Scientists will receive Rs. 200,000 per month, along with a 10% annual increase. The advertisement states that Forensic Scientists and Junior Forensic Scientists will receive half salary during training.

Qualification and Experience

The qualification requirements vary according to the position. The Additional Director General (Forensics) position requires a PhD in Forensic Science, Chemistry, Physics, Genetics, or Molecular Biology, along with an MSc in a relevant field. Applicants must also have seven years of relevant work experience and seven publications in relevant peer-reviewed journals.

The Director Forensic position requires a PhD in Forensic Science, Chemistry, Physics, Genetics, or Molecular Biology and at least seven years of experience in a forensic laboratory.

The Manager (Pathology & Histology) position requires relevant medical and postgraduate qualifications in pathology, histopathology, or microbiology, along with the required laboratory experience.

PFSA is also seeking forensic professionals with qualifications in areas including Physics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharm-D, Psychology, Neuropsychology, Graphic Design, Photography, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Genetics, and other relevant disciplines.

Junior Forensic Scientist positions are open to applicants with relevant MS, MPhil, MSc, BS, BSc, engineering, pharmacy, computer science, and related qualifications, depending on the post.

Age Limits

The age limit for the Additional Director General position is 42 to 55 years, while applicants for Director Forensic must be between 35 and 50 years.

The Manager (Pathology & Histology) position carries an age limit of 40 to 55 years. Most Forensic Scientist posts have an age limit of 28 to 35 years, while the Pathology & Histology position has an age limit of 30 to 40 years.

Applicants for Junior Forensic Scientist positions must generally be between 23 and 35 years. PFSA will apply general age relaxation to the maximum age limit according to the prevailing Punjab government rules.

Special Conditions

Only male candidates can apply for the Forensic Scientist and Junior Forensic Scientist positions in Crime & Death Scene Investigation.

The advertisement also sets additional coursework requirements for candidates applying for Forensic Scientist (DNA & Serology).

All positions are full-time and require regular working hours. The appointments will initially be made on a three-year contract, which may be renewed under the Punjab government’s Contract Appointment Policy 2004.

Interested candidates must submit their applications online by October 18, 2026. Applicants must upload complete academic transcripts and degrees while submitting the online form. PFSA will treat applications without complete documents as incomplete.

Candidates applying for more than one position must submit a separate online application and processing fee for each post.

Applicants must also pay a non-refundable application processing fee of Rs. 2,000 through the PSID generated after completing the online application.
