Pakistani Student Completes 1,100km Run From Lahore to Skardu
Government College University (GCU) Lahore student Faizan Ahmed has completed a 1,100-kilometer endurance run from Lahore to Skardu after spending 22 days on the road.
Faizan, who is also a member of Falcon Triathlon Club (FTC), completed the journey in Skardu on Thursday, September 17, after traveling through some of Pakistan’s most challenging terrain.
Starting from Lahore, his route took him across the plains of Punjab before moving into the mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Along the way, he passed through areas around Gujranwala, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Abbottabad, Naran, Babusar Top, Chilas, and Raikot before reaching Skardu.

The 22-day challenge included long-distance running through difficult terrain, steep climbs, and changing weather conditions as Faizan made his way from central Punjab toward the mountainous north of the country.
However, the journey was not only an endurance challenge. Faizan dedicated the run to the Armed Forces of Pakistan and the martyrs of the police, paying tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in the service of the country.
He also used the Lahore-to-Skardu journey to raise awareness about drug abuse, particularly among young people. Through his interaction with communities along the route, Faizan highlighted the dangers associated with drugs and encouraged young people to take part in healthier and more positive activities.
The initiative aimed to use endurance sport as a platform for spreading awareness and promoting a message of responsibility and positive social change.

Faizan’s 1,100-kilometer journey also highlights the growing interest in endurance sports among young Pakistanis, with athletes increasingly taking on long-distance challenges for both personal achievement and wider social causes.
After 22 days on the road, Faizan reached Skardu on Thursday, bringing to an end the endurance challenge that began in Lahore.
Falcon Triathlon Club congratulated Faizan on completing the journey and using his passion for endurance sport to carry a message of gratitude, awareness, and responsibility across Pakistan.
