Pakistan Attracts 80% More Foreign Investment in August 2026
Pakistan’s net foreign direct investment (FDI) rose by 80 percent year-on-year (YoY) to $316 million in August 2026, according to State Bank of Pakistan data compiled by Topline Securities.
Net FDI in August also shows a 77 percent month-on-month (MoM) increase compared to $179 million in July 2026. This took 2MFY27 net FDI to $495 million, up 24 percent YoY.
On August 7, Pakistan also entered a strategic defense pact with the Saudis, which helped reinforce remittance channels and increase investments.
The power and financial business sectors recorded the highest foreign investment inflows during August.
On a country-wise basis, China, Canada and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) remained the largest net contributors to Pakistan’s FDI during the month.
